The Bards Quest in Black Lake...*plays melodramatic tune!*

and here it is....TADA!! i have much of gratitude to this site for its helpful walkthrough, but, i coudnt find anything about the bards quest, and lets face it....Grobnar is an idiot, who is basicly...annoying and useless? but nonetheless i have the "key notes" for the bards quest. I dont know if anyone has made a thread about this before, but im lazy and i cant bother to search for it so if it aint there allrdy i have it here.

1st tune: 4 4 1 2 4 7 5 4
2nd tune: 2 3 4 4 5 1 1 2 2
3rd tune: 2 3 3 2 2 3 3 1 7 5
4th tune: 3 5 3 4 5 2 7 2 7 5

also it is good to have Qara with u, as she can do some pyrotechnic stuff or if ur pissed off put that bastard on FIRE!
anyways have fun and i hope this will help some of u with that quest in black lake

Is the fourth tune different if you do a duet with Grobnar?! Because I tried it multiple times with him and it always fails. Anybody else have a failure with this tune 4?

That because the fourth tune as listed above by Midnight Law is incorrect. It should be EITHER:

35345272725

OR if you have version 1.03 English FINAL

35345272715

The second to last note is ambiguous and Obsidian fixed it in the 1.03 final patch so EITHER solution would work.

And I used the first version with Grobnar without any problem. Got a nice +3 boost to influence for asking him too.

AND if I hadn't been playing a pally I would have burned that obnoxious sob Cain up in a heartbeat! Gad, what a self-inflated view of his own talent! I wish they had given you the option to smash him over the head with his loaner lute! lol That ALMOST would have been worth an alignment shift! lol

After much fiddling around i finally won the bard quest. You know the minstrel that brags about being the smartest and best bard in the whole world etc etc.


song 1: 4,4,1,2,4,7,5,4. Taunt him or outperform him, he will fail most of the time.

song 2: 2,3,4,4,5,1,1,2,2 same as above

song 3: 2,3,3,2,2,3,3,1 same as above

song 4: 3,5,3,4,5,2,7,1,7,2,5 same as above, and I asked Sand to diss him in public ( didnt dare to get a duet with grobnar)

Prize: Golden lute of Lazar no XP

Oh cool, I was going to ask about this quest in Blacklake, thanks for the info. Does the pompous jerk at least get humiliated when you beat him (since you can't fry him)?
