In Merchant Quarter, I have gone through a couple times and have never run into the following influence checks ;

+1 Neeshka) if she is attacked by Raines, "I'm getting worried, Neeshka - I'll protect you, but there's only so much I can do."
-1 Neeshka)"We just killed a man, and you treat it like a game." * Depends on when you finish quest.

Is there a special time or series of events I must go through to meet this 'Raines'?

Its only a minor check influence but i'd just like to know. Other walkthroughs online show or speak nothing of this Raines.

I honestly can't remember if there is an encounter with Raines or not. I do know that one of the Neeshka encounters got deleted, but the code was left in the game. Perhaps Raines was the one that got axed.

I think Perhaps it was removed in a patch, since I recall possibly having see it when playing the game unpatched. In following playthroughs though, its no longer there, no matter how much you stroll around Neverwinter.

I have a question, too. But it's more relating to dialogue, and the characters in general. Two characters.

Once you get enough influence with Sand -- or when the beans are spilled during court -- he tells you that he used to be a Hosttower Mage. Is there anything else about that, or is that just pretty much the end of his story? And Qara, too. Every time I play the game, she gets attacked by the wizards after she first gets put in my party, and then that Sydney lady sends the black Qara after her to kill her. But then... that's it. Isn't there more about that Head of the Academy guy?

Sorry if I'm sounding really ignorant here, but I haven't played the whole game through in a little while. My games keep glitching up, and so I have to keep starting over. Or I get grounded from computers, which happens more often.

As far as Sand is concerned, that's pretty much the end of the story as far as his past as a Hosttower mage is concerned. There are no quests from that dialog.

As for Qara, I believe that there should be one other encounter outside the sunken flagon where the head of the academy shows up and another where your character, Qara and Zhjaeve meet Sydney and Jalboun of the Two Swords.

Yep, that's pretty much it for both. Qara's subplot, the plotting of the Academy Headmaster with Sidney Natale, the Elemental Qara special encounter, etc. is easily missed.

One way to miss it is, if you manage to wipe out the second Academy students gang, then the Headmaster never shows up, you don't get to see the plotting with Natale cutscene, and you don't encounter Qara's Elemental image in special encounters. You still have to bring her along to the True Name Meeting later, however and will there face the Elemental Qara.

Another way to miss it -at least partially- is if you don't take her along and leave her to rot and mop the Sunken Flagon clean. Then, you will never see the special encounters with her Elemental evil image.

There's a missing Neeshka influence. During the Rite of Tyr, after you have said you "welcome the company", if you then let her sabotage Lorne's gear you gain a further 2 influence.
